Legacy Giving

A legacy gift to American Oversight helps protect democracy and hold government accountable for generations to come.

One of the simplest ways to make a legacy gift is to include American Oversight in your will or estate plan. You may designate a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after other obligations have been met.

Here is sample language you may wish to use:

“I give and bequeath to American Oversight, located at 1030 15th St. NW, B255, Washington, D.C. 20005, the sum of $________ [or ______ percent of my estate] to be used for its charitable and educational purposes.”

We encourage you to consult with an attorney or financial adviser to ensure that your gift reflects your wishes and circumstances.

If you have already included American Oversight in your estate plans, please contact us so we can thank you personally.

Telling us about your plans does not create a binding commitment. We understand that circumstances change and that you may revise your gift at any time.
