House and Senate Hold Coronavirus Hearings

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, and the Senate HELP Committee are holding hearings related to the pandemic on Wednesday. Find links here.

On Wednesday, multiple congressional committees held hearings related to the coronavirus pandemic.

At 10 a.m., the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions is holding a hearing titled “Vaccines: Saving Lives, Ensuring Confidence, and Protecting Public Health.” Witnesses include NIH Director Francis Collins and Surgeon General Jerome Adams. Watch the hearing here.

At 11:30 a.m., the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology is holding a hearing titled “The Impact of the Covid-19 Crisis on University Research.” Witnesses include the University of Illinois’s Dr. Joseph Walsh; Oakland University’s Dr. David Stone; Purdue University’s Dr. Theresa Mayer; and Carnegie Mellon University’s Ryan Muzzio. At 1 p.m., the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis is holding a hearing titled “Ensuring a Free, Fair, and Safe Election During the Coronavirus Pandemic.” Witnesses include Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft; Kristen Clark, the president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law; Krutika Kuppali, the vice chair of the Global Health Committee; Mimi Marziani, the president of the Texas Civil Rights Project; and actress and activist Kerry Washington.
