Texas Supreme Court Says Governor, Attorney General Not Subject to Lower Court Orders in Public Information Dispute

A Supreme Court of Texas (SCOTX) opinion issued Friday rejected a nonprofit group’s efforts to force Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton to turn over requested records, but left unanswered a question about whether any court can force the state’s executive officers to comply with the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA).
