Martinez is a counsel at American Oversight, where he drafts and litigates federal Freedom of Information Act requests and state public records requests on behalf of the organization as well as external clients and partners. Prior to joining American Oversight, he practiced immigration law, representing individuals seeking asylum and other humanitarian protection in removal proceedings and before various federal agencies. Before law school, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Benin. Martinez received his law degree from Stanford Law School.
