Watabe is responsible for publishing and organizing the thousands of documents received through American Oversight’s records requests. Since joining American Oversight in 2019, they have continuously worked to make the organization’s growing records collection accessible to the public. Watabe has previously worked as a research and advocacy assistant at the education nonprofit Class Size Matters, as a teaching assistant at American University, and as a digital intern with both The New Republic and The American Prospect. Watabe received their masters in public anthropology from American University.
