Ukraine Investigation Update: Volker Text Messages

On Monday, the State Department released three pages of records in response to one of our lawsuits for documents related to the Trump administration’s Ukraine pressure campaign.

Docket Number 19-3058

On Monday, the State Department released three pages of records in response to an American Oversight Freedom of Information Act lawsuit for documents related to the Trump administration’s Ukraine pressure campaign.

The documents include text messages from August and September 2019 between former Ukraine Special Representative Kurt Volker and Catherine Croft, who served as special adviser to Volker. Croft testified in front of House committees on Oct. 30, 2019, during the impeachment inquiry.

This is the second production of documents in our lawsuit seeking Volker’s calendars as well as his communications concerning any effort to encourage the Ukrainian government to investigate Joe Biden or with Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and others.

American Oversight’s next Ukraine-related document production is due from the Defense Department this Friday, February 14. Future document productions in our Ukraine investigation are scheduled for Feb. 21, Feb. 28, and March 16.
