Complaint: American Oversight v. Kentucky Office of the Attorney General – Ballot Integrity Task Force Records

State “voter fraud” task forces have cropped up across the country. Behind language about ensuring fair elections, the groups use the specter of widespread voter fraud to undermine confidence in elections and dissuade voters from participating in democracy, including through mail-in ballots.

The promotion of the myth of widespread ballot fraud has given voter-suppression efforts greater traction in multiple states, including Kentucky. We’re investigating the state’s election administration amid the coronavirus pandemic as well as the actions and motives of the state’s Ballot Integrity Task Force.
